Meet the Herbalist

My journey with plants began in childhood, long before I knew the word "herbalism"- foraging for ingredients to make tea in my neighborhood, reading books about native plants, and attending herb classes at local libraries. I've spent the last eight years formally studying herbal medicine through courses and under well known herbalists throughout the South, deepening the passion I've carried since I was young. Today, I serve my community as a clinical and folk herbalist, combining the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda and the traditions of Western herbalism to create an attainable, well rounded support for those I work with.

In addition to my herbal practices, I am a prescribed fire manager and a certified Louisiana native plant landscape professional. My connection with the land- stewarding native plants and tending the ecosystems around me is deeply connected to the way I approach wellness. Plants have always been my teachers, creating a strong passion for ethical foraging and plant identification education. I believe in honoring them both in the wild and in medicine.

Education and community connection are at the heart of everything I do. I love teaching about the power of plants and fostering a network of support within my local community and beyond! As an herbalist, people come before profit. I offer a sliding scale for those who need it-just contact me. My dream is to get herbal remedies and support into the hands of the people who need it most, regardless of financial barriers.

If you feel called to work together on classes, products, etc, please reach out- I would love to connect.

Pranam,

Sophia
